Peter Gynd is a fifth-generation artist, independent curator and former gallery director. Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Peter has 10 years of experience in the New York art world curating exhibitions at galleries, art fairs and institutions, including a permanent exhibition at the Foundation Center New York and an acclaimed two-person presentation at SPRING/BREAK Art Show in 2015.

From 2016-2020, Peter was the Director at Lesley Heller Gallery in Manhattan’s Lower East Side gallery neighborhood, producing exhibitions by world-renowned artists and up-and-coming stars. The gallery’s exhibitions were regularly featured in publications such as The New York Times, Artforum, Art in America, Sculpture Magazine and Hyperallergic. He has been a guest critic at The Art Students League, Residency Unlimited, Kunstraum, ChaNorth Artist Residency; a consultant at NYFA’s Doctors Hours; guest lecturer at Pratt Institute and LIU Post; and guest juror for numerous exhibitions.

Peter combines his multi-faceted experience with a passion for arts education and engagement to offer a unique perspective into today's contemporary art world.
